Documentation
Definition
The indicator activates material requirements planning for MRP areas at client level.
Use
If the indicator is set and the MRP areas have been defined in Customizing, material requirements planning is carried out for MRP areas that have been defined in Customizing and that have been assigned storage locations or subcontractors. Subcontractors/vendors remain in the plant MRP area, whose number is identical to the plant number. Material requirements planning is also carried out separately for this MRP area.
Additionally, the availability check is no longer carried out at plant level. It is carried out separately for each MRP area, if MRP areas have been assigned to the material in the material master record. You can assign MRP areas to materials by creating an MRP area segment in the material master.
The field MRP area is also offered for selection in the applications material requirements planning and production planning.
Dependencies
To be able to activate material requirements planning for MRP areas, you must have converted the existing planning file entires at plant level to planning file entries at MRP area level. To convert the report, you use a report that you start in work step xxxxxxxxxxx.
