Definition

The planning time fence specifies a period in which no automatic changes are to be made to the master plan.

The planning time fence is maintained in workdays.

The planning time fence is calculated in MRP using the current date plus the number of working days that you have maintained in the material master record or in the MRP group.

Dependencies

There are two possible methods of maintaining a planning time fence:

• You define a planning time fence specifically for the material in the material master.
• You define the planning time fence for each MRP group in Customizing and and suqsequently assign the MRP group to a material in the material master record.

Note

It is only used for materials that are planned using an MRP type which includes a firming type.
The firming type determines how order proposlas are to be created or scheduled within the planning time fence.
