Definition

This indicator controls whether in the case of a link between production orders and collective orders automatic goods movements should take place between the individual levels of a collective order.

This indicator does not define whether production orders are linked to a collective order. You specify whether production orders are linked to a collective order in the field Special procurement in the second MRP view of the material master.

Use

You always set this indicator if you want to treat production orders that are linked to collective orders in the same way with respect to costs as production orders that are not linked to collective orders.

If this indicator is set and if you have used the special procurement key for the secondary requirements of a material to be produced to define that a collective order is generated then there are automatic goods movements between the production orders in a collective order. This means that a subordinate production order delivers the material he produces to stock. At the same time as the goods receipt posting a goods issue posting is made for the superior order. When the goods movement is posted

  • costs are credited from the subordinate order
  • costs are debited to the superior order

If this indicator is not set then, in the case of collective order processing, there are no goods movements between the individual production orders. The costs collected for each order are then settled to the superior order in period-end closing.

Dependencies

You can predefine this field in the order type for production orders.

For collective orders without automatic goods movements you must take organizational measures to ensure that the WIP calculation and the settlement of orders are each carried out twice. You cannot carry out a variance calculation for collective orders without automatic goods movements. You cannot carry out a standard cost calculation for a collective order without automatic goods movements.

You can find detailed information on collective orders in the document Cost object accounting -> Order-related Product Controlling.

Example

Example of collective order with automatic goods movement:

For the material types HALB (semi-finished product) and FERT (finished products) the price control indicator S (standard price) is specified.

You have a collective order whose leading order with the number 4712 produces a finished product FERT 1. The leading order has a subordinate order with the number 4711 that produces a semi-finished product HALB 1.

HALB 1 has a standard price of DM 50. FERT 1 has a standard price of DM 100.

When producing the semi-finished product HALB 1 actual costs arise of DM 60. HALB 1 is delivered to the warehouse. Order 4711 is credited DM 50. Order 4712 is debited DM 50.

With the production of FERT 1 actual cost of DM 90 arise. FERT 1 is delivered to stock. Order 4712 is debited by DM 100.

In period-closing you settle order in product cost accounting. The difference between the debits and the credits for the orders is settled in financial accounting:

  • Order 4711 posts DM 10 to financial accounting.
  • Order 4712 posts DM -10 to financial accounting.
