Definition
Indicates how a shipment of this type is to be performed. The processing control is dependent on the shipment type.
Use
Processing control is defined in Customizing for each shipment type. The indicator which is set in Customizing is copied into the shipment document header.
Examples
The shipment leaves from one particular point of departure and arrives at one particular destination. Several modes of transport are involved. To process this shipment, you use a individual shipment document of the type which allows multimode shipments. In other words, the indicator for 'Individual shipment using several modes of transport' must be set in the ProcessControl field for the shipment document type.
