Definition
This date is set automatically by the program for the taxes on sales/purchases return if the "Update tax items" parameter is set. It is used to prevent double reporting of individual items in cases organizationally difficult to safeguard. (Example: The tax return has to be made according to document date and you cannot be sure that any more documents are entered with a document date in this period after the tax return has been made).
By updating the individual tax items, however, the run time of the reporting program is considerably increased. The "Update tax items" option should therefore only be used in cases where it is really justified.
An update is not necessary in all countries which use the posting date as the criterion for the tax return, since after closing the posting period the corresponding period can be blocked from having any further postings made to it.
