Definition

The waiting list type is defined in ISH and is used to assign preregistrations to various categories. In any country versions of ISH in which the waiting list type is to be maintained, this can be automatically derived from the preregistered services. This saves the user from having to enter the waiting list type next to the services.

Example:

A patient preregisters for a hip prosthesis. The service hip prosthesis belongs in the waiting list for hip operations, and the corresponding waiting list type is "hips".

A corresponding preregistration is automatically inserted into the waiting list "hips" when the waiting list type "hips" is assigned to the service "hip prosthesis".
