Definition

Maximum number of days permitted between the evaluation date and the price date of the market data when market prices are used for the evaluation of a security.

Use

The system evaluates securities either using the market price or by calculating the theoretical price by discounting the cashflow of the business. The system first attempts the evaluation using market prices. You use the maximum age of the historical price to determine for how many days prior to the evaluation date the system should search for historical market prices. If no market prices are found within this time frame, the system calculates the theoretical price of the security.

Dependencies

  • The system interprets the number of days either as calendar days or as workdays depending on whether you have assigned a calendar to the stock exchange in the Customizing settings:
    • No calendar assigned: days are calendar days
    • Factory calendar assigned: days are workdays
      • You assign the calendar in the Customizing activity Exchange.
  • Next, the system attempts an evaluation using market prices only if have not selected the Calculate Theoretical Price indicator in the corresponding evaluation rule. Otherwise, the system ignores the maximum age of the historical price.
