Documentation
Definition
A valuation class groups a valuation category and a valuation principle.
- Valuation category
The valuation category determines the position management method and thus which valuation groups are created.
- Valuation principle
The valuation principle controls the valuation method and rules that are applied to a valuation group.
Supplementary Documentation - SREVCLS 0000
Use
Each security position must be assigned a valuation class in the position indicator at company code and securities account level.
You can define default values for the company code and the individual product types in Customizing for the Securities area by choosing Assign Company Code and Define Company Code-Dependent Settings.
The system uses these default values to determine the position indicator automatically (when a class is first purchased).
If the position indicators are created manually, the default values for a class can be be overwritten at company code level and/or securities account level.
Exception:
If you manage your positions at portfolio level, you cannot make manual settings for a class using the position indicator.
