Cost elements are the cost-relevant items of a chart of accounts and are used to record all costs within the whole cost accounting system.

Dependencies

Cost elements are a prerequisite for comprehensive reporting and detailled planning.

When you create a cost element, the R/3 System transfers all attributes from the reference cost element.

Exception:

If you specify a secondary cost element as the reference when you create a primary cost element (or vice versa) the R/3 system does not transfer the cost element category.
