The property tax categories in Portugal depend on the type of the property, and are defined by law.

Use

The following tax categories are predefined in the system:

Tax Category    Description

NUPR    Non-urban property (land property)

UPNI    Urban property (building: residential, commercial, others, and land for construction) (not subject to an individual evaluation)

UPIM    Urban property evaluation under the IMI code (subject to an individual evaluation)

TAXH    Real estate owned by an entity resident in a tax haven

STAT    State entity owned property
