Definition
Date from which the object is valid.
Effective value, limited by the validity of the superordinate object.
Example
A rental unit can only be valid within the validity period of the building that it belongs to. If you set an unlimited validity period for the rental unit, by not entering a valid-from and valid-to date for it, then the rental unit is automatically valid for the whole period that the building is valid.
