Use

Via this field, the formula to be evaluated in a calculated characteristic is transferred to the QM subsystem.
The QM module can evaluate formulas from the SAP formula interpreter and run function modules defined as formulas. The QM module calculates the formulas when valuating a characteristic. If QM cannot interpret a formula, the formula will not be evaluated.

Procedure

The procedure depends on where the formula evaluation is carried out:

  • Evaluation of the formula in the QM module

If you want a formula from a calculated characteristic to be evaluated by the QM module, you must close the characteristic without confirming any values for it.
In the inspection plan, you have to set the indicator "Calculate formula," when you maintain the formula.

  • Evaluation of the formula in the non-SAP system

If you want the formula in a calculated characteristic to be evaluated by the non-SAP system, do not set the indicator "Calculate formula" in the inspection plan, when you maintain the formula.

In this case, the QM module ignores the formula; that is, the formula is not inspected and not calculated. The non-SAP system must calculate the formula and confirm the inspection results for the characteristic.
