Definition

The minimum stock level is the lower limit of the dynamic safety stock. If the warehouse stock falls below the minimum stock level, the system calculates the dynamic safety stock again based on the target range of coverage. The system adds the dynamic safety stock to the order proposal quantity in the planning run.

The system calculates the minimum stock level according to the following formula:

average daily requirement * minimum days' supply

Dependencies

You can define the parameters for calculating the minimum stock level for each period in Customizing for MRP by choosing Define range of coverage profile. The range of coverage is assigned to a material in the material master record.
