Definition

Point or location at which the leg of a route begins or ends.

A transportation connection point can represent an address, a load transfer point or a border crossing. It can also refer to a location defined in the master data (shipping point, plant, customer, vendor)

Use

You can define a transportation connection point in more detail by assigning features to it:

  • Load transfer point as port, airport, train station, etc.
  • Border crossing point with customs office
  • Train station data
  • Duration of stay
  • Address or reference to master data location

Notes

If transportation connection points are used as load transfer points or border crossing points in routes or transportation processing, then the corresponding indicators must be set in the transportation point attributes:

  • Load transfer point: Set load transfer point indicator
  • Border crossing point: Set border crossing point indicator

Without the correct indicators the transportation connections are not displayed in F4 help, if you want to use them in a category 2 (load transfer) or category (border crossing).
