Definition
Determines the number of periods from when the long-term planning is valid.
The system calculates the "valid from date" for the long-term lot size by calculating the number of periods entered here into the future. In so doing, the system always rounds up to the beginning of the next complete period.
Examples
The planning run takes place on a Wednesday and three weeks have been entered as the period length for calculating the valid from date for the long-term lot size:
then the system calculates three weeks into the future and starting from the beginning of the next complete week (that is the Monday) the lot-size calculation is carried out using the long-term lot size.
The planning run is carried out in the second third of the month and three months have been entered as the period length:
then the system calculates three months into the future and rounds up to the end of the third month. From the first workday of the following month, the system uses the long-term lot size in planning.
