Use
If this field is selected, the Joule-Thompson effect is calculated.
The gas temperature t that was calculated normally is changed to new gas temperature NT as follows:
NT = t - (( IP - MP ) / C )
where:
- IP = Initial pressure before register
- MP = Outgoing pressure at register
- C = Constant ratio: pressure difference / temperature difference (for example, 100 kPa / 0.5 °C)
Dependencies
The corrected temperature NT is used as follows, depending on what was specified in the Joule-Thomson Eff. field:
- Direct temperature correction
The new temperature NT is directly slotted into the temperature component Ts / ( To + t ) of the formula for the volume correction factor where:
- Ts = standard temperature
- To = zero temperature
and: t = NT.
- Temperature correction with Joule-Thomson factor
The temperature is corrected by multiplying the temperature component Tn / ( To + t ) by the following ratio of the temperature components, which constitutes the Joule-Thomson factor (JTF):
JTF = ( Ts/ ( To + NT ) ) / ( Ts / ( To + t ) ).
You can maintain the values for the ratio of pressure drop to temperature drop date-specifically using a key in Customizing under SAP Utilities -> Contract Billing -> Special Functions -> Gas Billing -> Volume Correction Factor -> Temperature Maintain Values for Pressure-Temperature Ratio Joules Thomson.
