Documentation
Definition
Start date of the value given in the current document. The system enters this value based on the posting date of the transaction that generated the CIAP document.
Use
Dependencies
The value start date can be different for documents of the same CIAP object, depending on which CIAP-relevant transactions occur.
Example
Assume that the system identifies a material (which you assign to an internal order) as a CIAP object. The system assigns the same CIAP start date and value start date, and it calculates a value as 48 months from the start date and assigns this as the value end date. Ten months later, you settle the internal order to an asset, and the system enters the posting date of the settlement as the value start date in this new CIAP document. The CIAP start date and value end date remain unchanged in the new CIAP document.
Some other examples of transactions that lead to a new value start date are assignment of CIAP-relevant stock to a WBS element or an AuC, or partial retirement of an asset.
