Definition
This field specifies the type of the ICD-10 diagnosis.
The following values exist for country version Germany:
- + for dagger diagnoses
- * for asterisk diagnoses
- ! for supplementary diagnoses
- empty for "normal" (non-classified) ICD-10 diagnoses
Note that only the dagger code can be entered (as continuation indicator at case level to show that there are still asterisk diagnoses). The other types (*, ! and blank) are taken from the diagnosis coding catalog, and cannot be set by you.
If you enter one of these codes, it will be overwritten by the catalog value.
There is an additional type # (pound sign code) for country version Austria.
All code numbers that were not mapped to code numbers of ICD-9 BMAGS 1998 and may only be used within the institution are defined as pound sign codes.
