Documentation
Definition
A coverage referral that is either generated automatically by the system, or entered manually, resulting from the facts captured in the notification process.
Use
A check is made to determine whether insurance coverage exists for the claim reported, and thus whether the insurer is obliged to pay compensation.
If there is no obligation to pay compensation, the system generates the corresponding coverage referrals. If coverage referrals exist, you cannot make a payment. However, you can overrule coverage referrals manually. You have to state a reason for overruling a coverage referral.
Dependencies
Example
- Insurance premiums not paid up
- Policyholder has violated his/her obligations
- Incident type is not covered
- Not reported to police
