Documentation
Definition
Defines the conditions under which a results reserve is created.
Use
The purpose of an estimated results reserve is to reserve a portion of the result to date when it is still possible for follow-up costs to be incurred.
Procedure
The system provides the following methods:
- No Results Reserve
The revenue percentage rate is ignored.
- Results Reserve Through Revenue %, Create at End
The system uses the revenue percentage and the planned revenue as the basis for determining which actual revenue can be realized. When the actual revenue exceeds this value, the system updates the overrun as a results reserve. The calculated revenue and the cost of sales are correspondingly low.
For example, if you planned revenue of USD 100,000 and defined a revenue percentage of 10%, revenue of UDS 90,000 can be realized.
The full amount of actual revenue is realized until USD 90,000 is reached. When the actual revenue exceeds USD 90,000, the difference between the actual revenue and the allowed revenue is updated as inventory from which revenue can be generated, until the results analysis object reaches a status when final results analysis occurs.
- Results Reserve Through Revenue %, Create Simultaneously
The revenue percentage determines which portion of the actual revenue can be realized. When the first actual revenue is posted to the results analysis object, the results reserve increases accordingly.
For example, if you defined a revenue percentage of 10% and posted actual revenue of USD 10,000, revenue of USD 9,000 is realized and USD 1,000 in inventory from which revenue can be generated is updated. In the next period, actual revenue of 90,000 is posted. The system realizes revenue of USD 81,000 and creates USD 9,000 in inventory from which revenue can be generated.
