Definition

Date, from which the system is to import the MRP elements into the stock/requirements list.

Note

In the following cases there can be discrepancies between the start date or end date of a defined horizon and the receipt/requirements date in the respective analysis list:

  • For stock transfer purchase requisitions, the horizon is not based on the requirements date, but on the delivery date (= requirements date + planned delivery date).
  • If a goods receipt processing time has been entered for a material, the horizon is not based on the availability date, but on the goods receipt date (= availability date - goods receipt processing time).

Calculating the available quantity

When you have a selection horizon, if you restrict the display using the start date, the calculation of the available quantity also only starts with this start date. Requirements and receipts from before the start date are not taken into account. The display of the available quantity does not then correspond to the actual material availability.

The restriction using the start date is, for example, useful if you want to improve system performance or if simulative stock development from a particular point in time is of interest to you.

Use

Dependencies

If you enter a start date and a timeframe in calendar days, the system automatically calculates the end date.

If you enter a start date, the system imports the MRP elements into the list for an unlimited period in the future starting from today's date.
