Documentation
Definition
The input side represents a methodology in variance calculation.
- In Overhead Cost Controlling it includes all debits and credits on cost centers and business processes except for credits from activity allocations.
- In Cost Object Controlling it includes all debits and credits on orders and cost object IDs except for deliveries and activity allocations.
The input side includes the following variance categories:
- Scrap (only in Product Cost Controlling)
- Input price variances
- Input quantity variances
- Resource-usage variances
- Remaining input variances
All variance categories on the input side are calculated with the original cost elements. The sum of variances on the input side for the cost element is equal to the difference between the target and control costs.
Use
Variances that result from changes in prices, allocation bases, or consumption goods (cost elements) are displayed on the input side.
Variances that result from over- or underabsorption on a cost center, or from over- or underdelivery of the order quantity, are displayed on the output side.
Dependencies
The variance variant allows you to determine which variance categories will be used in variance calculation.
