Definition

The analysis type is used for the classification of services according to DKG-NT, Section M - Lab tests (Germany).

Depending on the extent to which a service is performed manually or by using mechanical or automated medical devices and machines, three analysis types can currently be distinguished:

• P --> Refers to services (for example, examination results) that can be performed mainly by using mechanical devices or analysis devices that are fully or partially automated. In this case, a low fee is charged.
  
• E --> Refers to services that are usually performed mechanically or by using automated devices, but which for special reasons could not be performed this way (for example, chem-strip testing in practice, analysis device used outside the usual lab hours).
  
• M --> Refers to services that cannot be performed mechanically, nor by using partially or fully automated devices.
