Definition
Key that determines how the progress of the order or project is monitored in results analysis or the calculation of work in process.
Use
The following methods can be used in WIP calculation:
- Valuation at actual costs
The order progress is monitored through the status of the order.
- For statuses with results analysis type "F" work in process is created in the amount of the actual costs.
- For statuses with results analysis type "Z" work in process created previously is canceled.
- Valuation at target costs
The order progress is monitored through the confirmation or reporting point backflush for each operation. Results analysis type "S" is used in each period.
In results analysis, the order progress can be monitored through the actual revenue, the actual quantity, or the earned value.
- With results analysis type "E" the actual revenue determines the order progress. Two methods are available:
- Revenue-based results analysis
- The cost of sales can only be determined if revenue for the order or project has been entered.
- POC method
- Calculated revenue is determined using the actual costs incurred to date.
- With results analysis type "M" the actual quantity determines the order progress. Two methods are available:
- The cost of sales is calculated from the actual quantity.
- The POC method is used.
- With results analysis type "L" the earned value in the PS module determines the progress of the project.
Results analysis type "R" is used to carry reserves for the costs of complaints and commissions on a separate order or WBS element.
Results analysis type "B" is used for results analysis through dynamic items. This can currently only be used in connection with resource-related billing with dynamic items. The costs and revenues affecting net income are taken from the resouce-related billings. Costs yet to be billed are work in process. These costs can optionally be valuated at revenues according to the conditions in the sales document item.

In results analysis, the results analysis type (revenue-based, quantity-based, and so forth) is always interpreted in connection with the profit indicator (with profit realization, POC method, and so forth).
