In this step you define parameters for several application areas in SAP Retail.

  1. Material group control

  • You can enter a default valuation class.
    Standard entry: ' '.
  • ID "Material group reference material":
This allows you to remind users to create a material group reference material, via a message. Creating a material group reference material is not, however, compulsory.
    Standard entry: 'X'.

  1. Assortment control

  • FMod Assortment<->Integrated material maintenance:
You enter an interface module between Asssortment and Material Maintenance.
Using your own module is a massive deviation from the standard and should not be done lightly.
    Please read the Assortment documentation.
  • ID: "Work without listing conditions":
This parameter should only be set if good reason exists.
    Standard entry:' '.
If you work without listing conditions
    • you have no POS download,
    • and no assortment list generation
  • FMod Assortment <-> User-specific assortments
Here you enter the interface module with which sub-range functionality can be used.
Read the documentation for function group WSOK.
    Standard entry: ' '.
  • ID "Subsequent listing for Inventory Management":
If the material master data is missing in a transaction involving stock for a target plant, this indicator controls whether the missing master data is created immediately.
    Standard entry: '1'.
    Significance:
    • '1': No subsequent listing
    • '2': Subsequent listing
    • '3': Fine control with function module
  • FMod Subsequent listing:
Here you enter the function module which performs subsequent listing/master data creation.
    Please read the Assortment documentation.
  • ID "Log missing material segments":
This indicates that a log entry has to be made in the system log if in creating material master segments in assortment maintenance functions no reference copy can be found.
    Standard entry: 'X'.
  • ID "Error log, multiple":
If when processing the errors reported in the system log for missing material master segments, the system determines that some errors still cannot be solved, another entry is made if this indicator is set.
    Standard entry: 'X'.
  • ID "Log records retention (days)":
If "Log missing material segments" is set, this parameter determines the time which the log records for missing segments remain in the system.
Since normally one job is run a day to update the log, the number of days should be less than 10.
    Standard entry: '10'.
    Standard entry: 'X'.

  1. Industry and reference plants at client level
See the section on Reference plant per distribution chain.

  • ID "Retail industry":
This parameter specifies the industry description for Retail.
    Standard entry: '1'.
  • Reference plants for DCs:
Here you enter the plant that is to be used as a reference plant when copying distribution centers.
The standard version does not contain an entry.
  • Reference plant for stores:
Here you enter the plant that is to be used as a reference plant when copying stores.
The standard version does not contain an entry.

  1. Product catalog

  • Document type:
Here you enter the document type that controls organizational processes involved in product catalogs. This is part of the document key.
    Standard entry: 'L01' layout document.

  1. Valuation at sales prices for stock transfers

  • Procedure for stock transfer valuation:
Here you define how the conditions for valuation at sales prices in the
case of stock transfer are determined.
There is no procedure defined in the standard system.

  1. Valuation at purchase prices for structured materials

  • Customer exit for valuation:
Here you define whether the customer exit for modifying the valuation
    price split is implemented.
    Standard entry: ' '.

  1. Additionals

  • Activate additionals:
Here you define whether the Additionals component is active.
    Standard entry: ' '.

Requirements

Your system is configured as an SAP Retail System.

Activities

Maintain the parameters.

Further notes

Note the definition of "Creating listing conditions per plant" (plant master).

  • The setting "no listing conditions" always overrides all plant master data to the contrary.
  • The setting "listing conditions ='X'" is required for creating listing conditions in every plant.

The settings in the "Integrated maintenance, layout" step are also important for product catalogs.
