This section describes where and how you can make your own field selection for screens.

Requirements

Determine the name of the program, to which the screen belongs. Go to the relevant screen and from the menu choose System -> Status. Make a note of the content of the program field (SCREEN).

To identify the screens of a module pool that have a modification planned for the field control, enter the name of the module pool only in the maintenance function (transaction SFAW or SFAC) and choose the 'Display' or 'Edit' function. The system displays a list of all screen modification groups. From this list, you can display a list of fields that can be modified for each screen modification group.

You can modify the field control for the following QM programs:

  • Master inspection characteristic
    Module pool SAPMQSDA
  • Central replacement of master inspection characteristics

    Module pool SAPMQPDA

  • Inspection method
    Module pool SAPMQSCA
  • Inspection plan
Module pool SAPLCPDI (header and transaction data)
Module pool SAPLQPAA (inspection characteristic data)
  • Quality info record
    Module pool SAPMQBAA
  • QM in SD
    Module pool SAPMQVDM
  • Inspection lot
    Module pool SAPLQPL1
  • Inspection lot-usage decision
    Module pool SAPMQEVA
  • Results recording for inspection point
    Module pool SAPLQAPP
  • Quality certificate
    Module pool SAPMQCPA (certificate profile)
  • Quality notification
    Module pool SAPLQM03 (initial screens)

    Module pool SAPLIQS0 (subscreens)

Module pool SAPMQM00 (reference object subscreens)

    Module pool SAPLIPAR (partner subscreens)
For partner lists in notifications, there is a specific method for customer-specific field selection, in addition to the general method described in this documentation. For more information, refer to the Implementation Guide for Quality Notifications

Execution

All screens for which a field selection is possible are grouped together in individual screen modification groups (for example, all lists or detail screens for an object).

Modifiable and influencing fields are defined for each screen modification group:

  • For the modifiable fields, you use indicators to define how the individual fields will be displayed on the screen:
    • Field is ready for input (default setting)
    • Field requires an entry (required entry)
    • Field is only displayed
    • Field is hidden
    • Field is highlighted

For example, if you define the work center as a required entry for the list and detail screens in the inspection plan, you must maintain the work center in all inspection plans.

  • For the influencing fields, you define how the modifiable field will be displayed on the screen by means of a value (for example, that the work center is a required entry for a certain plan usage).

Note

The field selection settings can be transported. These settings are retained in a release upgrade.

If a modified field becomes mandatory due to a change in an influencing field (that is, the field becomes a required entry field), the system does not check whether this field has entries in all existing objects.

Standard settings

No default settings are provided for the field selection.

The modifiable and influencing fields are predefined for each screen modification group and cannot be supplemented.

You define a field selection as follows:

There are several ways of defining a field selection.

You maintain the indicators of the modifiable fields independently of an influencing value.

  1. Position the cursor on a screen group.
  2. Choose the function key Modifiable.

All fields you can modify for this screen modification group appear on the screen.

  3. Maintain the indicators and save their entries.

You maintain an influencing value for an influencing field and then the indicators for the modifiable fields

  1. Position the cursor on a screen group.
  2. Choose the function key Influencing.

All fields for which you can maintain influencing values appear on the screen.

  3. Double-click to choose the influencing field for which you want to maintain a value.

All fields that can be modified for the influencing value appear on the screen.

  4. Maintain a value in the field Influencing value and the corresponding indicators for the modifiable fields.
  5. Press ENTER.

    The entries are copied.

  6. Maintain additional values for the influencing field or choose further fields by pressing Influencing.
  7. Save your entries.

You maintain an indicator for a modifiable field and specify the values of the influencing fields

  1. Position the cursor on a screen group.
  2. Choose the function key Modifiable.

All fields you can modify for this screen modification group appear on the screen.

  3. Double-click to choose a modifiable field for which you want to maintain influencing values.

All influencing fields appear on the screen.

  4. Position the cursor on an influencing field for which you want to store a value and select New Values.

A dialog box appears on the screen.

  5. Maintain value and indicator for the influencing field and press Continue.

    The values are copied.

  6. Save your entries.

Activities

  1. Determine for which screen modification group you want to modify fields.
  2. Maintain the indicators for the modifiable fields and the values for the influencing fields.
  3. If necessary, transport your settings. To do this, choose Field selection -> Transport.
