In this step, you define rules for determining the date.
Each such rule has a base date (e.g. the current day's date, validity start date), to which a predefined time period is added.
The rules for date determination can be defined using the following data:
- The possible base date is predefined by a fixed range of values (e.g. current day's date, validity start date) which cannot be changed.
- The time period can be defined in any way by specifying a number with an associated unit of time.
- If you use a calendar ID to define a rule, the next possible future workday in the calendar is determined, starting from the base date.
If you use a calendar ID, you may NOT specify a time period.
Example
A rule for date determination comprises the following:
- the current day's date (as base date)
- the period 6, and
- the time unit "month"
Starting from the current date (15 June 1997), the date determined by the system is 15 December 1997.
Standard settings
Recommendation
Activities
- Enter an alphanumeric key (max. two characters long) plus a descriptive text for each rule. The latter can briefly describe the type of date determination, for example.
- Define the base date.
- Specify either a period with a unit of time or a calendar ID.
Further notes
To define a rule, you must specify at least a base date.
