In this IMG activity, you assign the indicators with which you want to work in the application to designate the sex of a person to the default indicators in the system.

Here you should make sure that your specifications are coherent with the actual meaning of the internal indicators.

Execution

  1. Enter the indicator with which you want to work in the application in the Ext.Sx field.
  2. Now assign a system-internal indicator to this indicator (field Int.Sx).
  3. The sex short text is output in place of the sex indicator in a number of functions. For this purpose, enter a meaningful short text in the Sex field.
  4. If you enter a form-of-address ID in the Ad field, the appropriate form-of-address the system defaults the appropriate form of address ID in the patient master record and in the business partner data when you specify a sex indicator. The possible entries are listed in the value help for this field.

Use

The sex indicator is used for a number of system-internal checks. These include:

  • Deliveries can only be entered for female patients
  • Only male patients can be assigned a bed in a room reserved for men.
