In this step, you define the text formats for the long texts used in the objects of the QM component. The inspection lot text and the text for quality notifications at the header or item level are examples of this.

You assign the sender texts that are used in SAPscript forms to the output programs at company code level. Such texts are used as header or footer texts in quality notifications or in inspection descriptions.

Standard settings

The text widths are set to 72 characters in the standard system.

Recommendation

Retain the settings contained in the standard system.

Activities

  1. Determine whether other settings are needed for SAPscript texts for objects in the QM component and change the settings, if necessary. You can find the corresponding objects using the generic key Q*.
    Caution: these settings apply to all clients!
  2. Determine which of the following forms should contain sender texts, and if required, adapt the copy models for these texts for each company code to suit your company:
    1. Inspection instruction (printing of inspection results for inspection characteristics)
    2. Quality certificate

Further notes

  • For task list objects, you can specify other text widths. These have priority over the central text format settings.
  • Short texts are usually 40 characters long; any additional characters from the the first long text line are not displayed in the associated short text.
