In this step, you make the settings for the screen layout and field attributes.
You can define which fields

  • Require an entry (required-, or mandatory-entry fields)
  • Allow an entry (optional-entry fields)
  • Do not allow an entry (display, or hidden fields)

The following field selection categories exist, upon which control of the input attribute depends:

  • Object (e.g. purchase order)

  • Document type (e.g. NB)

  • Release indicator (in the standard system: B)
    You can define your own field selection strings for the specified release indicator. The field selection string must be identical with the relevant release indicator.

  • Item category (e.g. D for external service or B for blanket purchase order) e.g. ME21N, "Create purchase order".

SAP recommendation

SAP recommends that you accept the settings defined in the standard system. In this case, no action is required on your part.

Actions

  1. Check the predefined input attributes.
  2. Change the control of field input in accordance with your requirements.
  3. If necessary, define new field selection keys and assign them to a field selection category.
  4. Choose the desired attributes on the detail screen.

Additional information

  • User parameters for the entry of services performed

    Use parameter 'TCV' (entry variant in the case of the service overview screen) to determine on a user-specific basis the order in which the data fields of the service lines are to be displayed on the screen. To do so, choose "System -> User defaults -> User parameters" from the SAP menu.

    The parameter can be defined as follows:

    TCV 1 Time recording fields first
    TCV 2 SSC fields first
    TCV 3 Formula fields
    TCV 4 Short text field for short description of service not used
    TCV 5 User fields
