Diagnosis
You are trying to discharge a case from the list of assigned cases although neither of the two cases has been discharged yet. This is not possible in this context.
The reason for this is that the configurable message N1 436 is currently set to type "E" or "A" in message control for your system. This means that when cases are assigned to each other with the internal functions Mother-Newborn or Companion-Accompanied Person, the start and end dates of the case-case assignment must match the hospital stay (admission date and discharge date) for the two cases.
Example:The end date of the assignment must not be after the discharge date of one or both cases. In the current context, the setting in message control would prevent the patient from being discharged, since one of the two cases is locked for processing and an attempt to discharge the patient would always trigger the above error message.
System Response
Procedure
Select one of the following two alternatives:
- Discharge both cases at once
- Start by discharging the main case (for example, Mother).
- Choose Extras -> Assigned Cases to access the list of assigned cases.
- If message N1 436 appears, you can skip it here.
- Select the case you want to discharge together with the main case (for example, Newborn).
- To discharge the case assigned, choose Discharge.
- When you exit the discharge function, the detail screen for the case-case assignment appears.
- The system automatically adjusts the end date of the assignment.
- Save.
- This also saves the discharge of the main case you discharged first (in this example, the mother's case) and you return to the original screen.
- Step by step discharge
- First, adjust the end date of the case-case assignment manually.
- You can now discharge both cases, either from the list of assigned cases or individually.
Procedure for System Administration
In some constellations, it can also make sense to adjust the message control setting for message N1 436 after consulting your system administrator.
