User Group for Authorization Check
If you assign a user to a user group for the authorization check on the Logon Data tab, you can distribute user maintenance tasks among several user administrators. The system administrator can assign the respective user administrator the right to create and change users in a group. Using the authorization object User Master Maintenance:User Groups (S_USER_GRP), you can assign user groups to different administrators.
Users that are not assigned to any of the groups, can be maintained by all administrators.
General User Groups
You use the division of users into user groups on the Groups tab primarily to group users for mass maintenance (transaction SU10). Furthermore, the Global User Manager (transaction SUUM) uses the user groups.
In the user maintenance transaction (SU01), you can assign users to one or more groups on the Groups tab.
Maintaining User Groups
You create user groups using the function Environment -> User Groups -> Maintain. If you are using Central User Administration, you must create the user groups required in all systems.

Use
Procedure
To assign a user to a group, enter the name of a group. A user can only belong to one group.
In the user authorizations predefined by SAP, the SUPER group is reserved for users which only the super user is allowed to maintain. If you are working with the SAP standard profiles, you can for example assign user and authorization administrators to this group. This protects these users from unauthorized changes.
Note: Users that are not assigned to a group can be changed by any user administrator.
New group?
Choose any name you like. You do not have to define the name at another place in the system. Users who have the same group name entered in their user master automatically belong to the same group.
Advantage:
The assignment of users to a group guarantees data protection and reduces maintenance expenditure. Only the person in charge of a group can maintain the master records belonging to a group.
A person in charge of a group cannot maintain the users of another group. The amount of work that arises can be divided amongst various users.
