Definition

Specifies that the system interrupts depreciation when shutdown dates are entered in the asset master record.

Use

Note that this applies only to ordinary depreciation, regardless of whether depreciation is split into a fixed part and a variable part (based on multiple-shift use).

However, shutdown is not taken into account for unit-of-production depreciation.

Special depreciation is also not considered during a shutdown, since it is based on tax specifications only.

The system does not stop the calculation of interest during shutdown, since interest is applicable even if the asset is shutdown.
