Documentation
Definition
Indicator specifying whether negative values are allowed in the previous period at the time of period closing.
Use
If this indicator is not set, and there are materials with negative stock values in a valuation area, the period closing operation is terminated by the system.
Note
The valuation area (that is, valuation level) is either plant or company code, depending on how your system has been configured in Customizing for Enterprise Structure in the activity Define Valuation Level.
Dependencies
If you set this indicator, you must make sure that the values are correct in Financial Accounting. These values can become negative. They can no longer be posted to the period in which the negative stock values arose if this period precedes the previous period.
It is worth setting this indicator only if negative stocks have been allowed in Customizing for Inventory Management in the activity Allow Negative Stocks.
