Definition
Indicator that when clearing open items in foreign currency, translation gains and/or losses are to be posted.
Use
Translations are posted if the item to be cleared has already been revalued once during foreign currency valuation.
The valuation difference is posted to a separate translation account, the offsetting entry is made to a clearing account.
The translation accounts then contain the part of the realized exchange gains of a period which were anticipated by a prior valuation.
