Documentation
Definition
Indicator enabling you to specify that a direct posting is to be carried out instead of the creation of a batch input session in the case of certain physical inventory reports.
Use
Important: this indicator is only evaluated in the case of the reports RM07II33, RM07II35, and RM07II37. The indicator is not evaluated in the case of any other reports.
Set this indicator for these reports if you want to effect a changeover to 'Direct Posting'.
Do not set the indicator if you wish to retain the customary batch input procedure.
When considering whether direct posting best suits your purposes, it is essential that you take account of the notes set out below.

Notes
The changeover results in changed behavior of the above-named reports:
- The selection screen changes
The parameters for controlling the creation of the batch input sessions disappear. Instead of these, the 'Direct Posting' parameter is offered. - Use of the 'Direct Posting' parameter
- If you set the 'Direct Posting' indicator on the selection screen, all postings will then be made without any further intermediate steps when the report is run.
- If you do not set the 'Direct Posting' indicator on the selection screen and have set the 'Output Log' indicator, a worklist is initially displayed on the follow-on screen. From this screen, you can carry out the posting by clicking the 'Direct Posting' button.
- Changed error handling
If errors occur when the data is posted, they are displayed in list form on the follow-on screen on conclusion of the processing. These errors must be analyzed. It may be necessary to rerun the relevant report after the errors have been rectified in order to post any not-yet-posted data records. - Default value for 'Direct Posting' parameter on selection screen
You can specify the default value in the 'Batch Input' field. When the report is run, this default value is adopted on the selection screen. - Report variants must be recreated
Variants of the reports created prior to the changeover to direct posting cannot be used any longer and must be recreated.
