Definition
Indicator to check, whether the standardized identifier for the own company has to be taken from GLN mapping table for a specific SAP R/3 object first, instead from the own StandardPartyID for the idenfication scheme.
Use
In IMG activity Logistics-General -> Material Master -> Settings for Key Fields -> International Article Numbers -> Maintain Global Location Numbers for Object you can define Global Location Numbers (GLN) for different SAP R/3 objects such as company codes, sales organizations, purchasing organizations, and so on.
If this indicator is selected for the identification scheme, the system tries first to determine a GLN from this IMG activity as own standard PartyID. The SAP R/3 object type (sales or purchasing organization) used depends on the concrete business case. A sequence is possible, for example, first access is made by using a purchasing organization and, if no GLN is found, a second access is made by using the company code to which the purchasing organization is assigned. If no GLN can be determined at all, the system use the content of the own StandardPartyID defined in the identification scheme.
Unless this indicator is set, the system use always the content of the own StandardPartyID in the identification scheme, which is not necessarily a standardized number owned by the GS1 organization.
