Definition

Specifies an application that uses the posting engine.

Use

Every application that needs to use the posting engine first has to define an application key. The namespaces X*, Y*, and Z* are reserved for customer projects. All customizing tables of the posting engine use the application as the first key. To use the posting engine, several Business Add-Ins (BAdIs) must be implemented. The application is the filter value of all these BAdIs.
