Documentation
Definition
The option for grouping materials, products and services. Using the division the system determines the sales areas and the business areas to which a material, a product or a service is assigned.
Use
A division can, for example, represent a certain product group. By grouping several products to a division, the data applies to the area of a division. You can limit, for example, price agreements with a customer to a certain division. You can also calculate sales statistics at division level and carry out marketing promotions (for example, a mailing promotion).
Example
If a sales organization sells and distibutes food products and non-food products both using wholesale and using retail, you can subdivide each of these two distribution channels into the divisions food and non-food.
