Documentation
Definition
The route that the delivery item takes to reach the customer. You can use the route in a delivery to display the following situations:
- one or more legs
- a link between the point of departure and destination
- a target area
Use
You can predefine different standard routes that depend on
- where a delivery comes from
- where it goes to
- which requirements the delivery should be transported under
You can use the route as a selection criterion:
- when processing deliveries in collective processing
- when selecting deliveries for transportation planning
Examples
The route as a link between the point of departure and destination
You can specify that the delivery takes the following routes:
- NA: North Atlantic
- PA: Pacific
Only during transportation planning do you determine with which ship the delivery should be transported.
The route as target area
You can divide a country into different delivering areas:
- R1: north
- R2: north west
- R3: north
- R4: east and so on
Enter the corresponding route for the delivery. During transportation planning you can select the deliveries that are determined for one or more target areas.
Procedure
The system can propose a route automatically using Customizing. If alternative input values are defined in your system, you can manually change the route in the document.
