Documentation
Definition
The ISO - code for units of measurement which the quantity refers to.
Use
The field is optional, but should be provided so that the quantity can be precisely identified. If the ISO conversion is missing in the SAP System, the unit of measurement is then passed on unconverted.
This field does not require an order item for the EAN because the EAN specifies the unit of measurement. The units of measurement with the corresponding ISO codes are maintained in Customizing under check units of measurement. If no unit of measurement is entered, the system searches for the corresponding unit of measure in the system. You can enter for each store whether the order unit or base unit of measure should be used. To do this maintain the internal interface profile.
When creating the document a conversion is made into the correct unit of measure, providing the conversion relationship in the material maintenance is defined.
Examples
KGM = kilo (SAP: KG) PCE = piece (SAP: PCE)
5 PCE = 1 kg for material XYZ (= "yogurt 200 g")
KG is the order unit.
The store order is then:
- XYZ, 10 PCE => Purchase order XYZ, 2 KG
- XYZ, 10 PCE => Purchase order XYZ, 2 KG
- XYZ, 10 KG => Purchase order XYZ, 10 KG
- XYZ, 10 KGM => Purchase order XYZ, 10 KG
- XYZ, 10 => Purchase order XYZ, 10 KG or 2 KG depending on Customizing.
- XYZ, 10 ABC => Purchase order Error=> Workflow !
Dependencies
The possible units of measurement for a material are defined in material master record maintenance.
