Definition

Object number for the object master record that uniquely identifies the object to which the warranty claim refers.

Use

Object master and object number serve to link the warranty claim to an object.

It is not absolutely necessary to link the warranty claim to an object. No object entry is required, for example, for a claim for an accessory (such as a ski compartment for the roof of a car).

Note: this field is case-sensitive.

Dependencies

Example

The object number for vehicles is the VIN (vehicle identification number), in other words the international standard 17-character number that identifies a vehicle uniquely worldwide and that is created in the maufacturer's system when the vehicle is assembled.

You can link in other object master records, read additional object data and make different entries for the object number using BADI WTY_READ_SUPPL_DATA.

You can then use BAdI WTY_F4_RELOB to adapt the F4 search help to the external object number.

Use

The reference object serves as reference for the manual creation of object master records, which affects the measurement positions. For equipment it can be used as a complete template for copying, for installed bases and functional locations it serves as a reference for creating measurement positions manually.

If a reference object serves as a copy template when you create a warranty object, the measurement positions for the template object are copied to the object and several measuring points are created for it. Measurement values can then be entered in the warranty claim for these measuring points. These measurement values can then be compared with the allowed maximum values in the master warranty within the framework of the warranty check, i.e. the check that analyzes whether a warranty exists for the object.

Dependencies

The reference object on version level can have any amount of measurement positions relevant to warranty processing. The reference object on item level should only have exactly exactly one measurement position relevant to warranty processing; otherwise the measurement position last created in the reference object is used.
