Definition

Defines the search engine used to search for materials in the Enhanced Material Search function.

Use

The Enhanced Material Search function supports the Search Engine Service and SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search.

The search engine can be configured in Customizing by either choosing:

• Sales and Distribution -> Basic Functions -> Additional Functions for Material -> Configure and Activate Enhanced Material Search with Creation
• Materials Management -> General Settings for Materials Management -> Enhanced Material Search -> Configure and Activate Enhanced Material Search with Creation.

Dependencies

The search engine "SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search" is required when using Price Catalog (Retail systems only) for material creation based on catalog material.

The material creation parameter "Force TREX update" is not supported when using the search engine "SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search".
