Definition
Defines the method used to change an existing material using the Enhanced Material Search function.
Use
The material change method can be selected in Customizing by choosing Materials Management -> General Settings for Materials Management -> Enhanced Material Search -> Configure and Activate Enhanced Material Search with Creation.
The following methods are offered:
- Simplified Material Creation:
This method can be used to create standard materials and retail single materials. It is possible to create materials either in the background or via a simplified user interface. You have to configure the material and assign reference materials for the supported material types and vendors in the Reference Material Maintenance function (transaction WSD_REFMAT). - Core Master Data Maintenance:
This method can be used in Retail systems to create retail materials via the Core Master Data Maintenance interface. You have to maintain a maintenance group in Customizing by choosing Materials Management -> General Settings for Materials Management -> Enhanced Material Search -> Configure and Activate Enhanced Material Search with Creation.
Dependencies
The Core Master Data Maintenance option can only be used in Retail systems. It must be configured before you can use the material creation with this method.
