Definition

Total value of a period in the currency of the object.

Planning

Procedure

If you want to plan costs in the cost center currency or in the order currency, you must define the corresponding field in the planning layout and enter a plan value in primary cost planning.

Use

If the appropriate field has been defined in the planning layout, the costs are automatically calculated in controlling area currency.
However, if you also want to manually plan costs in the transaction currency, the costs are calculated in the controlling area currency from the costs in the transaction currency.
If the costs are also manually planned in the controlling area currency, no conversion takes place.

If the field in the planning layout is not defined, the costs are automatically calculated in the cost center currency from the costs in the controlling area currency.

Note

  • You can only plan costs in a foreign currency if you specified in configuration with the "All currencies" indicator that these update the controlling area and fiscal year. You receive a warning message if this is not the case. If you ignore the warning, the planning parameters entered are used, but you can only plan the costs in the CO area currency.
  • You should make sure that entries are defined in the exchange rate table for any exchange rates that may be needed.

  • If an update in a particular foreign currency is allowed, you can display all the currency field groups irrespective whether these are planned manually or not.
