Definition
Key which determines how each material can be classified.
Use
Characteristics profiles can contain additional characteristics for a material group. These characteristics can then be declared as required or optional characteristics for any subsequent generic materials. A characteristics profile can only be assigned to one material group. It can use the value sets of material groups superior to its own in a more limited form.
