Documentation
Definition
Way in which goods or services reach the customer. Typical examples of distribution channels are wholesale trade, retail trade or direct sale.
Use
You can define data about customers and materials for each sales organization and distribution channel. You can supply a certain customer using several distribution channels within one sales organization.
A certain distribution channel can be assigned to one or more sales organizations. If you use a number of sales organizations, each of these sales organizations can, for example, use the "wholesale trade" distribution channel.
Note
Moreover, you can assign one or more of the divisions defined for the sales organization in question to every combination of sales organization and distribution channel. Thus you can assign the divisions Food and Non-Food to the "wholesale trade" distribution channel.
A certain combination of sales organization, distribution channel and division is called a sales area.
