Definition

You use this field to control how price gains are calculated. It is only applicable for product types, for which the price gain indicator is set to active.

  • ' ': The price gains include the gains/losses that arise when you write back the proportionate deferral amount for the premium or discount (inclusive).
  • 'X': The price gains do not include the gains/losses that arise when you write back the proportionate deferral amount for the premium or discount (exclusive).

To use this setting, you must enter an additional flow type for the flow category EADS in Customizing under Define Accrual/Deferral and adjust your account assignment settings accordingly (for example, if you use the gross posting system, the posting for writing back the proportionate deferral amount is no longer "deferrals to balance sheet account" but instead "deferrals to revenue").

Example

You have a nominal position for a tradable borrower's note of 1,000 USD. The remaining discount after deferral is 20 USD. If you sell 200 USD (nominal) at a rate of 105%, the proportionate deferral amount that is written back is 4 USD.

  • ' ': The price gain is 14 USD (10 USD price gain, plus 4 USD from writing back the proportionate deferral amount).
  • 'X': The price gain is 10 USD (10 USD price gain)
