Definition
Determines if the system creates a functional location in the background in the Plant Maintenance (PM) component when you create a Real Estate object (business entity, property, building or rental unit) and make an assignment to that Real Estate object.
Use
0 No automatic maintenance of functional locations
The system does not create a functional location, however you can make an assignment yourself. Any subsequent changes to the master data of the Real Estate objects (for instance business area) are not updated in the master data of the functional location.
1 Only create functional locations
The system creates and assigns a functional location. Any subsequent changes to the master data of the Real Estate objects (for instance business area) are not updated in the master data of the functional location.
2 Create and update functional locations
The system creates and assigns a functional location. Certain changes to the Real Estate objects are updated in the master data of the functional location.
Example:
Automatic assignments take account of the Real Estate object hierarchy. That means that the functional location hierarchy is adjusted accordingly. If you change the assignment of a rental unit to another building or if you change the building hierarchy itself, the functional location hierarchy is automatically updated.
Further notes
- How do I influence the numbering of a functional location?
The standard numbering for the functional location is derived from the primary key of the Real Estate object. For example, the functional location for building 0003 of business entity 0002 is assigned the number 0002/000000001/00000003.
You can change this number assignment using Business Transaction Events (BTE) with function module 00700001.
You can access this function module in this transaction by choosing
Environment ->Infosystem(Processes) and entering the component IS-RE.
- How can I influence the data update (->2 Create and update functional locations)?
The standard systems settings only update certain fields (Real Estate object data transfer to functional location).
Using the BTE functionality, you can change these settings with function module 00700002.
- How do I ensure consistant data maintenance (->2 Create and update functional locations)?
By assigning a user status to the functional location.
Result:
- Either there is no authorization to maintain the functional location using a transaction in the Plant Maintenance (PM) component
- Or a warning appears so that the PM administrator knows that the object is automatically updated
