Definition

The sales tax code represents a tax category that is to be taken into consideration in the tax return.

The tax codes are unique for each country. The tax rate and additional characteristics are defined in the system for each tax code.

Procedure

For tax exempt or non-taxable business transactions you use tax codes with the percentage rate of 0, if you have to report these transactions in your tax return.

Note

When tax rates are changed by the government, you have to define new tax codes. The old codes with the old tax rates must remain until there are no more open items that use these tax codes.
